Date: 11/14/2014 10:34am

Cynthia Jetter, DMD, of Jetter DMD in Voorhees, NJ, has been in practice for 28 years and has been an evaluator for Dental Product Shopper since 2009. Dr. Jetter was one of 13 evaluators who took part in the product evaluation of VOCO's Futurabond U from earlier this year so DPS checked back in with Dr. Jetter to get an update on her use of Futurabond U and how the product helps her in her practice on a daily basis.

DrQuickLook is a Must-Have Imager
Date: 12/05/2011 09:19am

Recently, while reading a print version of Dental Product Shopper I came across an advertisement for the dental imager DrQuickLook from QuickLook, Inc. I visited the manufacturer’s web site and I liked what I saw so I purchased the imager for my practice. DrQuickLook is an imager that can be used in live-survey mode or to freeze and magnify a single image. This imager is amazingly simple to use.

Date: 06/06/2011 12:42pm

It seems like more and more patients are reporting that they have been recently diagnosed with sleep apnea. Patients with sleep apnea will stop breathing many times during the night which can leave them feeling excessively tired during the day.

Solid Zirconia Crowns
Date: 02/03/2011 11:15am

Whenever any of my patients require a full-cast restoration on posterior teeth, I usually use porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) crowns because their clinical track record is well established. However, recently I had a patient fracture the porcelain off of a crown on a molar. This particular patient was also a bruxer so I decided to change their restoration to a solid zirconia or BruxZir crown. The esthetics were excellent and you could not see any difference between the zirconia crown and the adjacent natural teeth.

Using Loupes to Enhance Patient Care
Date: 12/06/2010 02:27pm

Using loupes or microscopes can greatly enhance the care our patients receive. I did not use any type of magnification in my practice until I started to use lasers. I use hard- and soft-tissue lasers; the Waterlase MD and the LaserSmile by Biolase. Each laser has it’s own wavelength and specific safety glasses can make it a challenge to locate loupes that can be used interchangeably with different lasers.

Contact Perfect Matrix Bands

It can be a challenge to restore tight contacts with posterior resins. I recently had the opportunity to try Contact Perfect matrix bands from Arnel Dental Products. I have to admit, I was a little intimidated by the look of the band when I removed it from the package.

Snap-On Smile
Date: 08/06/2010 08:19am

I recently received an informational mailing from Den-Mat about their newest service to the profession; the Snap-On Smile. This appliance has been available for some time from other labs, but Den-Mat is now offering this service to dentists. I have used many Den-Mat products like Infinity cement, Tenure bonding agent, CorePaste XP, Ultra-Bond Plus, and I have been placing LUMINEERS for many years. I personally had LUMINEERS placed about 15 years ago to correct an alignment problem instead of having orthodontic treatment.

Lasers for a Better Patient Experience
Date: 07/07/2010 11:37am

Even after five years of using dental lasers in my practice I am still amazed by what I am able to accomplish everyday. Just yesterday I removed caries from a primary molar of a 4-year-old girl and restored the tooth with composite in half the time that it would have taken to give her a shot and wait for her to get numb so that I could remove the caries with a high speed drill.

Lasers in Practice
Date: 06/02/2010 01:53pm

Bringing a new material, procedure, or piece of equipment into a dental practice can, as most practitioners know, be stressful.  Preparation and planning can minimize the stress. To successfully incorporate lasers into a dental practice, the dentist should acquire some basic knowledge about laser physics and clinical applications of lasers in dentistry.
