‘The Clinical Application of CAD/CAM Technology and Materials’ addresses the use of CAD/CAM devices and materials in the delivery of indirect restorations. After discussing the differences between the traditional steps required prior to the laboratory fabrication of indirect restorations and the steps required using CAD/CAM technology, the different options for CAD/CAM fabrication of restorations are addressed. This article also provides an overview of the materials available for CAD/CAM milled restorations, their attributes, and the types of luting agents that can be utilized for these.‘The Clinical Application of CAD/CAM Technology and Materials’ concludes with two case studies by the author. The first case demonstrates the use of CAD/CAM for the fabrication of Class II restorations. The second case highlights its use in the provision of a veneer in a patient with a fractured central incisor where the case was complicated by the presence of aligner attachments. Both cases highlight the predictable, esthetic results that can be obtained.
