Posterior Intrusion And Closing Anterior Openbites: Invisalign Is The 1st Choice
Closing the anterior openbite and maintaining that result, is a challenge in the orthodontic treatment of non-growing adult cases. Often excessive extrusive forces are placed on anterior teeth, and retention of these movements requires long-term fixed retainers, and still relapse of the openbite is common. Invisalign treatment aimed at posterior intrusion to allow mandibular autorotation and closure of the open bite without excessive anterior extrusion has proven very effective at treating these cases with results not possible by traditional braces and elastics.
