Science of Sedation

Science of Sedation is a single-session two-hour online course designed to be a refresher for both doctors and team members who have previously attended the Oral Sedation Dentistry 3-day program. Topics covered include a review of the sedative medications used in DOCS Education protocols, drug selection beyond just Valium®, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, reversal agents, and potential adverse reactions. The advantages and disadvantages of utilizing the oral route of administration is also discussed, as well as the seven key factors every practitioner should know to confidently deliver oral sedation.
