Managing Safety Data Sheets in the 21st Century

ADA Credits: 1
AGD Credits: 1
Cost: $19.00

OSHA requires that dental offices maintain up-to-date Safety Data Sheets (SDS), formerly known as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). These must be in a location that ensures they are readily available for all employees in the office. This requirement falls under a set of OSHA regulations called the Hazard Communication Standard, and is often referred to as the “Right-to-Know”. This is not a new Standard, however in 2012, OSHA passed new requirements that directly impact dental offices. Manufacturers are now required to provide SDS to users of products containing chemicals.

These bioactive “smart” materials also offer an interesting restorative option. Learn when and where these materials are indicated for use.
