Septodont North America Introduces Flavalta™ — The First and Only Lidocaine with Flavoring Agents
LANCASTER, Pa. — Septodont North America, a global leader in dental anesthetics, is proud to announce the launch of Flavalta™ lidocaine hydrochloride 2% with epinephrine 1:100,000, the first and only lidocaine formulation with flavoring agents. Representing Septodont’s most significant dental local anesthetic formulation innovation in more than 25 years, Flavalta™ builds on the trusted clinical performance of lidocaine with a formulation that incorporates flavoring agents.
Since its introduction in dentistry in 1948, lidocaine has remained the gold standard for local anesthesia. Flavalta™ builds on that legacy by incorporating sodium saccharin, a non-nutritive sweetener, and L-serine, a naturally occurring amino acid recognized for its flavor-enhancing properties. Both ingredients have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for safe use as sweetening and flavor-enhancing agents in food, beverages, and pharmaceutical products.
Patient feedback and market research have highlighted taste as an important consideration with dental anesthetics and an opportunity to enhance the overall experience. "There is nothing better than to take a concern of our dentist customers & their patients and give them a solution," said Paul Mondock, President North America & Global Sales Services. " By adding flavoring agents while maintaining the reliability and clinical performance practitioners depend on, Flavalta represents the next evolution of local anesthesia."
Flavalta™ combines trusted anesthetic efficacy with innovative flavoring agent technology and offers:
