Digitize, Optimize, Thrive: Building a Seamless Digital Workflow for the Modern Practice – A DEXIS Webinar Recap

DEXIS’ webinar, Digitize, Optimize, Thrive: Building a Seamless Digital Workflow for the Modern Practice, presented by Dr. Hans Sperling, explored how integrating digital technologies can enhance diagnosis, treatment planning, patient communication, and practice efficiency.

Dr. Sperling is a general dentist and owner of the Dental Care Center of Hollywood in South Florida. A graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, he has a background in oral and maxillofacial radiology and has lectured nationwide on implant dentistry, digital dentistry, and ridge preservation.

A major focus of the webinar was the importance of building integrated digital systems rather than relying on disconnected technologies. Dr. Sperling emphasized how combining 2D radiographs, CBCT imaging, intraoral photography, and digital scans within a centralized platform can improve access to diagnostic information and support more comprehensive treatment planning.

Through clinical examples, Dr. Sperling demonstrated how CBCT can reveal findings that may not be apparent on conventional radiographs, including pathology and suspected root fractures. He also highlighted how three-dimensional imaging can support implant planning by providing a clearer view of dental anatomy and surrounding structures.

Patient communication was another key topic. Dr. Sperling demonstrated how DTX Studio Clinic brings multiple imaging modalities together, allowing clinicians to visualize findings and explain treatment options more clearly. This approach can help patients better understand their oral health and support treatment acceptance.

The webinar also explored how integrated technology can improve practice efficiency. Dr. Sperling discussed AI-assisted image review as a tool for identifying potential findings while emphasizing the importance of clinician interpretation. He also highlighted how connected imaging and practice management systems can simplify documentation and insurance claims.

Overall, the webinar reinforced that successful digital dentistry depends on more than individual technologies. By prioritizing system compatibility, team training, and consistent protocols, clinicians can make more effective use of digital tools to support comprehensive patient care.
