Abstract

The term “digital dentistry” has become a catch phrase in recent times, but what does it mean to you? Understanding the incredible precision and accuracy it can provide in complex workflows is key to maximizing its potential. This course will demonstrate the digital workflows and techniques that allow for streamlined and predictable treatments and enhanced patient outcomes.

Barbara Jurim, DDS

Dr. Barbara Jurim focuses her time on her private prosthodontic practice, dental laboratory, and teaching. In addition to seeing patients in her digitally-focused private practice, integratedDENTAL, Dr. Barbara also teaches digital treatment protocols as the Assistant Director of Digital Dentistry at Touro College of Dental Medicine. She is a founding member of the CADpro Academy to provide her dental colleagues with advanced insight on CAD/CAM dentistry. Dr. Barbara Jurim graduated from Wellesley College Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Biochemistry. She attended New York University’s College of Dentistry from which she graduated as valedictorian, and then completed her studies graduating from NYUCD’s Postgraduate Prosthodontic Program. Dr. Barbara Jurim is a member of the American College of Prosthodontics, the American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Barbara lectures extensively to her dental peers on the topics of cosmetics, full mouth rehabilitations, and digital dentistry treatments. Dr. Barbara Jurim lives on Long Island with her family. Her interests include the art of cake decorating, making pottery, mastering culinary challenges, and enjoying the local outdoor sites with her family.

Dr. Alan Jurim

Dr. Alan Jurim is Director of Digital Dentistry and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dental Medicine at the Touro College of Dental Medicine (TCDM). Having joined the TCDM faculty in 2017, Dr. Jurim has led the development of the college’s robust digital dentistry program, assembling a team of experts to develop an innovative approach to training students using the latest digital dentistry technologies and techniques, including intraoral scanning, 3D printing and CAD/CAM milling. Dr. Jurim is a highly sought after speaker, lecturing internationally on digital photography, digital dentistry, CAD/CAM technologies, cosmetic case planning and complex reconstructive dental treatments. He is a pioneer in digital dentistry, and as such serves as a key opinion leader at Henry Schein and on the global advisory board for 3Shape. He is a founding member of CADpro Academy, an online resource designed to provide dental professionals with advanced insight on CAD/CAM dentistry. Dr. Jurim grew up working in a dental laboratory established by his father Adrian Jurim, M.D.T., a renowned, pioneering dental ceramicist. This experience combined with his unique background in engineering inspired his passion for digital dentistry. Dr. Jurim’s private practice, which he co-owns with his sister and Assistant Director of Digital Dentistry Dr. Barbra Jurim, has been featured as a model for innovative digital treatments, focusing on comprehensive restorative, implant and aesthetic dentistry using various digital and CAD/CAM technologies. Additionally, Dr. Jurim collaborates with several leading technology companies for testing and insight on product development. He is licensed to practice in the state of New York.
