Bioceramics In Endodontics-Promising New Frontier or the Wild West
Educational Objectives
After completing this webinar, participants will be able to:
• Identify the properties of “bioceramics” and “bioactives” used in endodontics.
• Recognize the knowledge gaps regarding research and clinical outcomes for newer materials vs. the established bioceramics on the market.
Abstract
The presenters will review the research and clinical support for the use of bioceramics in endodontics and discuss what we know and what we don’t know about the different materials currently available on the market.

Author Bio
Dr. Jianing (Jenny) He
Dr. Jianing (Jenny) He received her dental degree from West China University of Medical Sciences in 1996, and a certificate in Endododontics and a PhD in Oral Biology from the University of Connecticut Health Center in 2003.
Dr. He has been actively involved in endodontic education, research, and clinical practice. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, and a fellow of American College of Dentists. She has published over 50 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals and served on the Research and Scientific Affairs committee for the AAE (American Association of Endodontists). Dr. He is currently an Associate Editor of the Journal of Endodontics.
Dr. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry, and maintains a full-time private practice limited to Endodontics in Dallas, TX.
Allen Ali Nasseh, DDS. MMSc.
Dr. Allen Ali Nasseh received his Doctor in Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from North-western University Dental School (Chicago, IL) in 1994 and completed his postdoctoral endodontic training at Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 1997, where he also received a master’s in medical sciences (MMSc) degree in the area of bone physiology. He has been a Clinical Instructor and lecturer in the post-doctoral endodontic program at Harvard School of Dental Medicine since 1997.
