Jonathan Moffat
Jonathan Moffat’s passion for helping dentists build and protect wealth started early. As a kid, he saw his grandfather, a once-thriving orthodontist, lose nearly everything due to fragmented financial advice. That sparked Jonathan's lifelong mission: to help dentists avoid similar struggles and turn their income into lasting wealth.
Jonathan began his career in 2006 by co-founding DDS Strategies Group with his father, helping dentists become financially organized and strategically efficient. He deepened his expertise through specialized programs at UC Irvine (Personal Financial Planning) and The Wharton School (Investment and Retirement Strategies). Over the years, he’s shared insights on estate planning, taxes, goal setting, and dental business strategy at colleges, dental societies, Crown Council, and events hosted by Henry Schein.
In 2012, Jonathan founded Aligned Advisors with a clear purpose: helping dentists achieve financial freedom, create more personal time, and ultimately step away from the chair. His hands-on dental industry experience includes scaling Launch Dental from a single practice to an eight-location Dental Service Organization (DSO) in just over 5 years. He’s shared lessons from this journey widely, including through his role as faculty at Henry Schein’s Dental Business Institute and as contributor to "The Road to Success," and author of the widely referenced white paper "The Future of Dentistry."
Outside of work, you can find Jonathan on the field coaching his children's soccer teams or on the road cycling. He lives in San Diego with his wife Deborah and their four children.
