Educational Objectives

Learning Objectives

After attending this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Discover the benefits of using mobile-based digital scanning systems in patient communication and education.

  • Identify the key interface functions and workflow features of mobile scanning technology.

  • Recognize opportunities to enhance patient engagement using digital scans as part of the consultation process.

  • Determine where mobile scanning can be integrated into the clinical workflow to support treatment discussions and patient understanding.

Abstract

This webinar will provide clinicians and dental team members with practical guidance on integrating mobile technology and digital scanning into patient communication and education. Participants will learn strategies for using a mobility scanner with a mobile device to support patient engagement and improve understanding of oral conditions and potential treatment options.

The course will demonstrate how digital scans can be used in a similar way to intraoral photography, with the added benefit of three-dimensional visualization. This allows patients to view and interact with their own scans, which may enhance awareness of their oral health and support informed decision making.

Additionally, attendees will be introduced to communication techniques developed by Dr. Pescatore for presenting potential smile enhancements and clinical findings using mobile platforms as a primary chairside tool.
