Educational Objectives

After completing this webinar, participants will be able to:
• Evaluate the basics of bone healing and regeneration.
• Recognize the factors that can lead to optimal bone regeneration.
• Distinguish the indications and clinical scenarios where allograft bone sheets can be used.

Abstract

Bony deficiencies are a ubiquitous problem facing clinicians practicing surgical implantology. Whether creating sufficient bone volume for prosthetically-driven endosseous implant placement or restituting bone lost as a result of peri-implant disease, there is a need for materials that can lead to successful and predictable bone regeneration. Furthermore, these materials must also support the biological basis of bone healing and regeneration. One such material is the demineralized cortical allograft bone sheet which can be used in a variety of indications including Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR), alveolar ridge preservation, and surgical treatment of peri-implantitis.
This presentation will showcase the versatility of the allograft bone sheet in various clinical scenarios and demonstrate why it should be an essential component of your bone grafting toolkit!
