Educational Objectives

Learning Objectives

After completing this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Learn how to recognize areas of missing scan data and apply targeted rescanning techniques to ensure comprehensive digital impressions.

  • Understand the causes of image distortion in intraoral scans and gain practical strategies to minimize movement artifacts and optimize scan accuracy.

  • Develop the skills to evaluate occlusal clearance in your scans and implement workflow adjustments or clinical modifications to meet restorative requirements.

Abstract

Struggling with missing data, distortion, or inadequate clearance in your intraoral scans? You’re not alone—and the good news is, these common issues are often preventable with the right strategies. This webinar is designed to help clinicians and dental team members build confidence in identifying and overcoming the most frequent scanning challenges that can compromise case outcomes.

You’ll learn how to spot incomplete scan data early and apply practical techniques to capture the missing information efficiently—without starting over. We’ll cover how to detect subtle scan distortions that may go unnoticed until it’s too late, and share proven tactics to prevent them, from improving scan paths to patient positioning. In addition, you’ll gain clarity on how to evaluate occlusal clearance during the scanning process and what to do when there isn’t enough space for the lab to fabricate an accurate restoration.

Whether you're new to intraoral scanning or looking to refine your workflow, this session offers real-world insights, visual examples, and actionable takeaways that you can apply chairside immediately. Join us to elevate your scanning skills and improve your digital impression success from the start.
