Educational Objectives

OBJECTIVES:

- Recognize the role of universal composites in reducing the need for multiple material systems in restorative dentistry.

- Discuss handling characteristics, esthetic outcomes, and durability of the new composite in a variety of clinical scenarios.

- Identify strategies for integrating a universal composite into daily practice to improve efficiency and patient satisfaction.

Abstract

The discussion will focus on how the material performs in anterior and posterior applications, balancing esthetics, strength, and wear resistance. Key scientific features such as filler technology, shade matching, and polishability will be examined alongside real-world factors like handling properties, inventory simplification, and efficiency at chairside. By reducing the need for multiple specialized composites, a truly universal option has the potential to streamline practice operations without compromising quality.

Panelists will share firsthand experiences, presenting clinical cases that illustrate how the material adapts to a variety of restorative needs. These examples will provide insight into technique, adaptability, and long-term outcomes, allowing participants to compare approaches and exchange perspectives. Beyond technical performance, the group will also reflect on broader impacts, including patient satisfaction, practice consistency, and cost-effectiveness.

Designed as an open and interactive dialogue, this roundtable encourages attendees to engage directly with experts, ask questions, and consider how this innovation may influence their own practices. By the conclusion of the session, participants will gain a clearer perspective on where universal composites stand in the continuum of restorative materials, and how this new solution may shape the future of clinical dentistry.
