Technology in Dentistry : It's Not Just About Technology

Technology these days is not about technology itself. It's about the capability of the integration of the different components that create the structure of the digital dynamic patient.
The elements that we integrate are : the structure of the patient based in a 3D CBCT image that cannot be only analyzed in a static conditions, then the real patient dynamics and the functional movements.
This information is also integrated with facial scanners in 3D; what can also be dynamic, based in different smile expressions to analyze the smile harmony. All this information together with the intraoral scan allows to complete the patient avatar. Using all the patient's data we import into a planning 3D software that allows the integration of the dynamics.
It will perform the segmentation of the different structures, including teeth, roots, sinus, nerves, airways that allow the proper isolation of the elements to execute the proper diagnostic; with the capabilities to execute treatment plan simulations in a 3D environment, to work into the retro engineering process that facilitates the utilization of resources for interdisciplinary planning .

Author Bio
Dr. Javier Vasquez
Dr. Vasquez has been a dedicated dentist for the past 27 years, with a Fellowship in Fukuoka, Japan, and a Mastership from the International College of Craniomandibular Orthopedics (ICCMO) in the USA.
Dr. Vasquez Is the founder of Miami Natural Smiles by Oral Design, his clinic focuses on functional anti-aging dentistry and facial growth assistance. As part of his education commitments Dr. Vasquez is a current Clinical Adjunct Faculty at the Dental College of Augusta University in the Prosthodontist Program where he shares educational programs several times per year.
Dr. Vasquez has been at the forefront of CAD CAM technology for over 18 years, and in the past 7 years, he has been a pioneer in integrating 3D Data Integration for interdisciplinary treatments.
He is a master ceramist and a member of the prestigious Oral Design organization founded by Master Ceramist Willi Geller, he owns Oral Design Miami, a dental laboratory studio renowned for its focus on high aesthetics and function.
