This webinar explores the key factors that contribute to predictable, high-esthetic restorative outcomes, including material selection, preparation design, shade matching, treatment planning, and laboratory communication. Participants will review the principles and workflows that support successful esthetic restorations for anterior and other high-demand cases.

A practicing cosmetic dentist will complement the laboratory-focused education by sharing clinical experience, representative patient cases, treatment considerations, and restorative outcomes from everyday practice.

Through didactic education and case review, participants will gain practical strategies for collaborating with the dental laboratory and making informed restorative decisions that support esthetic predictability, functional performance, and patient satisfaction.

By attending this webinar you will learn how to:

  • Identify key material properties relevant to anterior restorations and their impact on esthetic and functional outcomes.

  • Evaluate preparation design principles that support optimal esthetics and material performance in anterior cases.

  • Apply effective shade selection and communication techniques to improve restorative predictability.

  • Recognize common challenges in anterior esthetics and implement strategies to improve consistency and patient satisfaction.

  • Review real-world clinical outcomes and decision-making from a practicing cosmetic dentist's high-esthetic case portfolio.

  • Discuss chairside protocols that support predictable esthetic results.

Author Bio

Walter Orellana

Walter Orellana, Director of Curate High Aesthetics at DDS Lab, brings two decades of technical and clinical expertise in smile design, ceramics, and 3D-printed veneers — across both hands-on craftsmanship and material research.

His career has led him to work alongside some of the field's most respected cosmetic dentists, including Dr. Brian Harris, Dr. Marvin Berlin, Dr. David Chan (AACD Past President), and Dr. William Dorfman (Extreme Makeover, The Doctors).

On the technical side, he has been mentored by some of the world's most elite ceramists — Monica Kim, MDT (Oral Design Candidate), Charles Moreno, MDT, FAACD, and Henning Visser, MDT.

From operations to senior leadership, he has helped scale a six-person lab into an 80-person, $9M operation and helped develop the DSO partnership models and CE programs behind that growth. He co-authored published research on 3D-printed hybrid resin veneers in Dentistry Today (2025) and received Heartland's Aesthetic Continuum "Case of the Year" award (2024).
