As recently as 15 years ago, there were primarily 1 pool of buyers for dental practices in America: solo dentists.  Valuations were maxed out at 90% of collections (due to banks appetite for risk) unless a Seller Note accompanied the deal.  Today, there is a second pool of buyers for a single practice: DSOs / Group Practices.  As a result, valuations have been driven up (sometimes well in excess of 100% of collections) due the increase in demand.
