Educational Objectives

After completing this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the types of malocclusions that are more difficult to treat using clear aligners.
  • Identify the predictable clear aligner tooth movements that can resolve moderate to difficult malocclusions.
  • Describe auxiliary techniques used to aid clear aligners with difficult tooth movements.
  • Practice using advanced features used to treat moderate to difficult malocclusions when using clear aligners.

Abstract

Clear Aligners have been used to treat a variety of malocclusions for the last 20 years.  It has become common knowledge that Clear Aligners can very predictably correct minor to simple malocclusions.  Now with a little more experience many doctors are finding that they can also tackle more difficult case types using Clear Aligners with more advanced techniques, protocols, and tools.  During this webinar, resolving vertical issues like Deep Bites and Open Bites will be reviewed.  Treatment of sagittal malocclusions like Class II and Class III bites will be discussed.  Correcting transverse issues like posterior crossbites will also be addressed.  Advanced techniques, protocols and some additional tools will be reviewed to help the practitioner gain more confidence in treating more moderate to difficult malocclusions when using Clear Aligners.
