  • Describe the requirements for a successful force system in aligner therapy
  • Apply orthodontic screening techniques for appropriate orthodontic patient selection and interdisciplinary case acceptance
  • Identify biomechanics strategies specific for orthodontic aligner applications
  • Recognize how treatment photography can help in the assessment of  case complexity

Abstract

This course will provide detailed strategies for aligner treatment design based on biomechanics principles, space management and staging, that will lead to more predictable treatment outcomes. Case presentations will demonstrate essential details in treatment design review, application of treatment protocols to  reduce Doctor’s digital burden, and strategies to avoid costly refinements.  Dr Stenberg will demonstrate how photography can direct your treatment planning to include esthetic as well as functional results. Emphasis is also placed on how to identify and gain case acceptance for interdisciplinary aligner treatments that conclude with restorative treatment post orthodontics.

Dr. Donna Stenberg

Dr. Donna Stenberg, DDS, MS is a board-certified orthodontist. She currently serves as a consulting orthodontist for Solventum Dental Solutions (formerly 3M Oral Care Solutions Division) She earned her DDS, Master's degree and specialty certification from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

She began consulting after more than 35 years of private practice in orthodontics, including 20 years and counting of aligner treatment experience. She is a Spear Education Visiting Faculty member, creates educational content for the Spear online library and led a local Spear Study Club.

Donna has lectured on interdisciplinary treatment planning, communication and biomechanics of moving teeth with plastic.
