Abstract
Since our dental school education, we were told that "we could not open the bite". Many clinicians, avoid treating the worn dentition and extreme “bruxer” patients, but others had great success. This program will help demystify the practical methods of how to restore vertical dimension and OVD position up to 10 mm. Long-term success of these patients with these techniques has been documented and recorded for the past 16 years. CBCT scans, analysis of TMJ joint positions, pre-op and post-operatively have shown that these positions are stable and long-term results have been seen with minimal complications. Using the current standards of scanning, technology and printing technology, we can now predictively treat the worn dentition, as well as using our multi-specialty approach to treatment planning and have excellent outcomes. This program will demonstrate predicable approach to full arch occlusion and help our professionals in private practice and in dental education universities.

Dr. Dean Vafiadis
Dr. Dean Vafiadis received his dental degree and Prosthodontics specialty training at New York University College of Dentistry. He is currently the Director of the Full-Mouth Rehabilitation CE course at NYU. He is an Adjunct Professor of Prosthodontics at NYU College of Dentistry and at NOVA Southeaster College of Dental Medicine. He has lectures nationally and abroad for NYU Continuing Education department and many professional dental companies. Dr. Vafiadis published and lectured on various topics such as Aesthetics, Implant designs, Computer restorations, Ceramic materials and Occlusion and Business of Dentistry. He is the founder of the New York Smile Institute in NY. It is an educational center, full service laboratory and learning facility as well as a private practice location for a multi-specialty practice for Implants and Aesthetics and Occlusion. In 2008 Dr Vafiadis began the FMR Rehabilitation course at NYU and is the only Occlusion course in the world that has live patient treatments and demonstrations. Over 1800 Dentists have completed this course. He has given over 7,700 hours of CE courses to 15,000 dentists in the past 30 years. Currently he is lecturing for the Continuing Education program at NYUCD for Dental Districts in US and Europe . His patient base includes many Celebrities, Sports Figures, Fortune 500 Company executives, Producers, Directors and Writers in the film industry, Executives in the Fashion world and World renown Chefs and Restaurant Owners. He maintains his private practice in the Burberry Building near Rockefeller Center. In 2018-2019 he lectured on a World Tour of Digital Realities of Dentistry, lecturing at 28 cities, in 7 countries, in 3 continents. During Covid-Year 2020 he had given 87 hours of CE to dental students, residents and dentists around the world at no charge. Dr. Vafiadis primary professional mission is to educate, publish and invent new technologies that will help change the dental profession and patients lives. He is a Fellow of the prestigious AAED, and a member of several professional organizations, including ACP, AACD and the ADA.
