Abstract

With increasing availability and decreased barrier to purchasing, CBCTs are quickly becoming a non-negotiable piece of technology in every 21st century practice. In this webinar double board-certified specialist Dr. Daniel Berant walks through the history of orthodontic therapies and the basics of reading and understanding CBCTs, specifically with how they pertain to orthodontic and periodontic treatments. The basics of periodontal phenotype and the crucial interfaces that comprise the dental smile will also be discussed. With a focus on dealing with the Gummy Smile, Dr. Berant discusses how to diagnose and treat altered passive eruption appropriately through the aid of a CBCT and clear aligners.

Author Bio

Daniel Berant, DMD

Dr. Daniel Berant completed his dental education training at the University of British Columbia, where he received his DMD and was awarded the Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Restorative Dentistry. After practicing for several years as a general dentist, his love for continuing education led him to pursue specialty training. He completed his unique dual-specialty residency in Periodontics & Dental Implant Surgery and Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Orthodontists and the American Board of Periodontology. He is the Orthodontic Section Editor for Compendium Magazine and a KOL for several dental companies. He is an international speaker and currently resides in New York City where he works in private practice.
